Influential Search Directories

Get signed up on key “pay” and “free” influential search directories – so that search directories and engines “see” and then spider your site. The granddaddy of them all is still www.dmoz.org (AKA the Open Directory). It’s free but still the most difficult to listed on, quickly. But important. Yahoo Directory, Best of the Web, Uncover The Net, Gimpsy, Business.com, YellowPages.com, etc. Plus there are other global, national or local directories specific to your industry that you also need to consider – and will greatly help your search traffic and “organic” rankings. Most directories charge a one time or yearly amount, and several have a PPC component as well.
